LIFORMANCE High Temperature Masterbatch

9 standard colours for PPS applications

Masterbatches for high technical requirements |

PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) is a high temperature resistant, semi-crystalline thermoplastic. Its high continuous service temperature and good resistance to chemicals such as many solvents, acids and alkalis make it exceptional. PPS polymers can withstand permanent loads up to approx. 240 °C and short-term loads up to approx. 270 °C; they are processed at around 300 °C. With LIFORMANCE, Lifocolor offers a product range of nine standard colours as PPS masterbatch.

LIFORMANCE masterbatches are specially developed colour concentrates with colourants that are specially adapted to PPS. The inherent colour of the PPS types can vary - depending on the type and quality. Therefore, colour development requires special know-how. By using a linear PPS as a carrier matrix, the mechanical properties of the plastic are retained. The LIFORMANCE product range is available in nine RAL colours as a standard range. All articles can be used for injection moulding and extrusion processes at a processing temperature typical for PPS. LIFORMANCE masterbatches are already available in small quantities from stock. Individual colour requests deviating from the standard portfolio are available on request. All products have approvals for food contact according to 10/2011 EU and additionally some according to FDA.

Wide range of applications

PPS polymers are used in particular for moulded parts subject to high mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical stress. Depending on the modification, the material qualifies, for example, for engine-related applications in the automotive and electrical industries (e.g. carburettor and insulation parts, coilformers and chip carriers). The masterbatches contained in the LIFORMANCE range are therefore conceived and designed for technical applications.
