Cosmetic Business is the meeting place for the cosmetics industry and its suppliers in Munich - Germany, Europe's largest cosmetics market. Once a year, international cosmetics companies and their suppliers come together to develop new ideas, exchange experiences and foster contacts.
At this trade fair not only cosmetics and packaging are represented but also pharmaceutical, household cleaner and detergent industries.

Granite effects for a timeless, sophisticated and yet natural product design
Imitations of natural materials such as stone or wood in polymers are still a trend and thus very much in demand. We have succeeded in developing new effect masterbatches whose colouring makes for an effective granite look. During the Cosmetic Business trade fair, we will present two of our current four effect concentrates in a jar and a bottle. These effects are currently created with formulas for polyolefins (PE, PP) and initial engineering polymers (ABS, PMMA, TPE) and meet the requirements for approval for food contact in accordance with 10/2011 EU and FDA regulations. They can be processed using common injection and extrusion techniques at temperatures up to 280 degrees Celsius.
With "Shades of Beauty & Care 2025" for the right product design
These changing times are leading to new colour trends that manifest themselves differently depending on target-group ages, mindsets and interests. The ability to understand these trends can in turn lead to sales success. With its “Shades of Beauty & Care 2025”, we are presenting approximately 50 trend nuances that ideally correspond with individual products, brands and customer groups. Whether it’s nature-based, emotional, playful, lively or laid back – four themed worlds offer various forms of inspiration for the innovative design of the beauty and care products of tomorrow. Four key colours have already been sampled and processed within the framework of partnerships. These colours have also now been used for the first time in two roll-on deodorants, a stick deodorant and a deodorant spray.
NIR-detectable silver masterbatches for a successful design for recycling approach
As with black polymer products and packaging, problems can also arise in the recycling process with silver-coloured products and packaging. Due to their composition, certain silver colours cannot be detected via near-infrared (NIR) and correctly sorted which make them difficult to recycle. Lifocolor has developed new solutions in collaboration with Eckart, a leading manufacturer of metallic effect and pearlescent pigments.
